RoboHelp 8 - Access Control

It is now possible to restrict access to topics to authorised users only. This requires the optional RoboHelp Server 8 product. Without that, access can only be controlled by your developers.

In simple terms the author will publish general topics to a public area on the server while topics for restricted access will be published to a protected area. Access to the protected area is controlled by Groups. Each group will have permissions assigned to it that limit viewing rights, publishing rights and report viewing rights.

• Viewing rights limit who can view. Users will have to supply credential to access these topics.
• Publishing rights control the authors who can publish to the protected areas.
• Report viewing rights control who can view the reports.
